Hi, I have dvdxcopy gold(not the ripper free version). I need to reformat my hard drive due to a virus that I cant get rid of. When I reinstall dvdxcopy gold, will I be able to re-activate it online or not? I was concerned because of my software being replaced by the ripper free version. I need to know if I will have problems acivating the dvdxcopy gold(not the rf version).

Thanks for your help

McAfee AVERT Stinger

Stinger is a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with an infected system. Stinger utilizes next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations.

How do I use Stinger?

1. Download Stinger.exe v2.2.0 [751,111 bytes] (4/6/2004)
* or Download ePOStg220.Zip EPO deployable version (for EPO administrators). Instructions for EPO 2.5X and EPO 3.X are available.

This version of Stinger includes detection for all known variants, as of April 6, 2004:

BackDoor-AQJ BackDoor-JZ Bat/Mumu.worm

IRC/Flood.bi IRC/Flood.cd NTServiceLoader

2. When prompted, choose to save the file to a convenient location on your hard disk (such as your Desktop folder).

Re-installation might be the last thing you might want to do (as it is usually messy... and there is always something left behind)

Try anti-virus soft first.

NOTE: Removal done while in 'Safe Mode' is most reliable. Some viruses avoid detection while scans are done in Normal Mode.

Highly recommended free (for home use) utility from Grisoft --> AVG Anti-Virus
grisoft.com/us/us_index.php

On the left side you will find "AVG Free Edition"

If you decide to re-load - try installing (and authorizing) both, pre-RF and RF versions (they install in separate directories)
Life is what happens to you while you're out doing something else...
