Does anyone know if 321 is using load balancing to handle the load.

That could explain why different people see different things. Maybe not all the servers are in synch.

Mediaroom - those are the same steps I took ftp site and all and I got the same result. Some people claim to have Platinum already and others don't. In the words of Seinfeld, what is the deal with airplane food?

Well people I don't know what to tell you. I just went back there again and I still have access to the file.

One thing I did notice is that the last link before I actually see the Microsoft download dialog, has my new license file # and my password in the link, so if that isn't there than my guess is that you are not set up for it yet.

I could email the file to you but it won't do you any good without a new license #.

Plus, my guess is that most people can not accept an 8MB file in their email.

Sorry,

Shoemaker

When I ping the site I get the same IP address, so that probably rules out load balancing ( different servers ).

Are you trying to download from work ?. Maybe the network restricts FTP downloads.

I now think it is.

ftp://products.321studios.com/6256/

or

ftp://123456:abc@products.321studios.com/6256/
works if the servers has your account then the URL path changes to ftp://products.321studios.com/6256/ once you have logined in using the browser.

While the web browser application is still open the user can just put ftp://products.321studios.com/6256/ to gain access because the username and password has been used already.

These are my thoughts as to why people have access and people who do not.

Simply the Usernames for new people have not been updated on the ftp server to allow them to view the file, let along download it.

If people would test to see if they use a standard FTP application and sign on as "anonymous" then try to sign on with there Lic# and password. I think they will see both views.

Nevermind folks, right after I posted this the file is there, and I'm downloading now! So maybe the key is to order then wait 24 hours...just kidding (on the wait 24 hours part--my download is now finished).

I just bought Platinum from the 321 website last evening and am among those who can't download it. I have my serial number, etc, and when I check the FTP folder for Platinum it is empty--so am clearly confused as to how some are able to download. I ordered the CDROM but need (want) to start using it now. Can someone send me a pointer to an FTP site where the Platinum was (and still is) available for downloading? Thanks.

For christ's sake, how many times does Dengar have to explain about the FTP site and Platinum

I've read some weird comments on this forum outlining the near hysterical attitude of some contributers....and I use the word loosely, but none come close to the utter nonsense posted by Tarbell.....and I quote....." It might be a marketing scheme to get more people talking about how they cant download the program so that other people will want to buy the program for the simple fact that it must be good because everyone is trying to download the program".

You say your active in some role as a customer service employee......with lines like that, I wouldn't give up my day job mate.

I'll look forward to purchasing the new program Platinum when it is ready for download.....there's no life or death hurry relating to it...when it's ready, it's ready.

I downloaded the XPRESS edition....paid my 69 dolars for it.....as I'm a UK resident...I didn't qualify for a rebate......that was never an issue.....I trialed the software....I loved it...and purchased it..........and I will do the same with Platinum.

From what I've read on this forum........and let me tell you.....I'ts been a learning experience that far outstrips the cost of any software I have purchased....I've found the peeps on this forum who contribute and help me, and others......the Mods....and Jeff in particular to be more than helpful AND more importantly.... honourable in mind and deed....and that extends to the 321 production team...right to the very top.

I'ts been said before....for gods sake give it a chance..... you'll wonder what all the fuss was about in a couple of days time, or less.

Chill out

wow, that worked

ftp://products.321studios.com/6256/DVDXCOPYPLATINUM.exe

is it because it is in caps?

or they must have changed the permissions on the file.

shoemaker:

I can download from the ftp link, but

Do we need a new license ID to activate Platinum?

Although I bought DVDXCOPY in Nov 2002 I have not received any email from 321 and I do not have a link to download Platinum when I login into the support page.

Please clarify.

Personally, as a manager in the this high tech world, you always plan for and try to anticipate the unexepectable, BUT.... it always happens! This company does an excellent job, considering all the trojans in their path, of being committed to customer service! I'm in the biz (wireless) and in order to compete, sometimes you push the envelope. This is cutting edge technology, so please, be patient. Not to mention the big picture of what they're all doing for US! Defending our rights, now here and in the UK. Of all the software I use, I find the best tech support and a dynamic organization within 321Studios. Yes, I attended the conference and have found the new products to be amazing! With any new software there's glitches, most certainly one as much anticapted as this. So please all, be patient, they'll get the job done AND work to make it work for everyone to their best ability!

Cheers!

pcron,

You need a NEW license # and it will either show up on your support page (as mine did) or you will get it in an email, or perhaps both.

Please, please, please, everyone be patient. It WILL happen and you WILL get the license # if you are entitled to the upgrade.

That's pretty much all I have to say. I believe it is pretty clear by now what is going to happen, so just wait and let it take it's course.

I did a copy of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (movie only) using the simple option.

Results: Rip = 14:50
Burn: = 20:30

So in just over 35 minutes it was done. This movie is 134 minutes long. Those are the best times I have had since I purchased DXC and DXCX.

Thanks 321 !!!!!!!!!!!!
