joy53,

Just a little FYI.

I have created a folder on my hard drive under the root of C: called Platinum. Whenever I download a new version I save it there. Then when I install it, I install it from there.

The actuall program gets installed into "C:\PROGRAM FILES\321STUDIOS" so the original installation program that I downloaded never gets touched or removed.

That way if the new version does not work, I can always un-install it and then re-install an older version that does work from the "Platinum" folder.

Thanks,

Shoemaker

I created a folder last night, after I accidentally deleted platinum 3.1.0.

Thanks for the Info.

Ok first off I must apologise for my long absence, I find myself in a position where it has been difficult sharing my time and helping out here.

Until recently I was unaware the Platinum had been released, no email notification nowt.
Anyway I went to to DXC website and logged in as usual only to find DXC and Xpress was my only available download.

I saw the various links connected to Platinum, ie 'To check your eligibility for DVD X Copy Platinum, Click Here!'......' Am I eligible for a FREE upgrade to
DVD X Copy Platinum?' and so on.

I clicked the main Platinum link, I was presented with three choices....1)YES, I already have a License ID for DVD X Copy Platinum, let me download the latest version. N/A
2)NO, I do not yet have a License ID for DVD X Copy Platinum, let me register for my FREE upgrade. YES Applicable and......
3)Am I eligible for a FREE upgrade to DVD X Copy Platinum?

Anyway I tried option 3, entered my DXC Licence ID number, password clicked submit and was presented with this message......

Error: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: UNITED KINGDOM
Source: System.Web

So after several attempts, including using the Xpress ID drew a blank.
So I emailed the European support guys(still waiting for a reply) as it was late at night.

The next day after several attempts and leaving my contact details in a phone message(no return call as yet) I got through to someone, they told me when the support guy or whoever got back, an activation ID would be emailed(still waiting).

The next day, not having received a reply(phone, email) I emailed the U.S support guys(no reply here yet either).

When the UK office hours arrived, I phoned the UK support again, after several ID's none of which worked, they took my phone number and would contact me with(hopefully) a valid number.

I have downloaded Platinum via the ftp site, but without a valid ID am unable to use it.
I'm surprised I haven't had an email telling me of it's release and even more surprised at the difficulty in obtaining an activation ID.

This goes to show to those who have thought otherwise, us Mods here at DXC forum don't get preferential treatment.

There's not much more of this rant, lol.

I'm not disheartened or angry, just a bit dismayed that even now after nearly a year of it's initial release, these sort of problems still arise.

I've no doubt all will be resolved eventually, it's just the lengths one has to got to sometimes to achieve what should be a simple process.

Sorry to re-inaugurate my return with a winge, nice to see you guys again and hi to all the new Mods appointed in my absence.

tommyx,

Welcome back ! Hope you get your Platinum # straightened out !!!

spideymac,

That's not a bad idea as well. I keep them in one folder because they are all numbered so I know right away which one to install and that way all versions are together and I won't loose them.

Thanks for the info,

Success, email with licence ID for platinum free upgrade received.
Now to see whether it was worth the wait, as this one has been a long time coming.
