Looks like I'm screwed. I blame 321 who in their efforts to copy OTHER products, made theirs so ironclad that not even their customers can use the friggin thing. I'm glad they are getting what they gave me! A BAD SHAG

Hi I am no lawyer (by ANY means) but I see certain responsibilities here. (1.) 321 made a product and promised LIFETIME activation because (2.) They were one of the FEW companies that actually put "activation" on their products after you have paid them monies for it to get it to work besides those @##%& over in th' N.E. parts of the U.S. (3.) 321 has had and still has PLENTY of time to issue some sort of patch or simply e-mail out activation (like 100 to each customer) codes to the legal address each of us HAD to give 321 for their infernal mailing lists. Taking into account that 321 has plenty of time to honor their legal commitment to keep their software working as they close their doors and they knew with plenty of time beforehand that they were gonna close, (ya dont wake up one day and say "oops, I'm bankrupt!" unless your an idiot and 321 wasnt idiots) then 321 as I see it has an obligation to their customers that they collected $$ from up till now! Now as was pointed out earlier bankruptcy immunizes ya from a lotta fiscal responsibility. But as I see it when ya get money for a product. And you DELIBERATELY design the product to continually and forever REQUIRE upkeep by said software manufacturer (i.e. said ACTIVATION EVERY time product is re-installed) while taking substantial sums of money for said product right up till closing. Then you fail to make an effort to keep the product self maintaining (i.e. patch or bunch of activation codes to all legal customers)then that could constitute fraud. It could even constitute fraud in more than one state. Also the mail (sending CD) was used to distribute these products AND wires were used to distribute these products (downloading). I think if I was facing that kind of potential criminal grief I would either be seriously making an attempt to e-mail, snail-mail out solutions (Patches and/or activations) or be buying tickets on the next flight for a distant 3rd world nation (with NO extradition treaties with U.S.) and figger on taking up permanent residence there. By the way since all this business was across state lines not only could states attorneys be interested in this but also the feds. ANY naysayers might wanna drop Martha S a note askin how she's doing right now! I hate saying all this really cause 321 seemed like nice people but I have dropped a total of nearly $250.00 twixt DVDXSHOW & DVDXCOPY & GAMESXCOPY and if I don't get real pleased inside of a few weeks I just may be looking into recourse. The more the merrier though. 321 needs ta know they can't just go, "Oh well... That's the way it goes..."
That's NOT the way it goes. The thousands of units they sold generated LOTS of money. They sold a product that could have EASILY been sold without activation from the company itself or at least made provisions for all these customers that paid their HARD earned $$.

Hi allz. Just an update. I retried to activate my Xcopy Plat & Xgame & Xshow and it just activated smooth as snot offa st bernards nose. those niiice people at 321 left a server runnin apparently. dunno why it din work for me earlier, mebbe it wuz resetting or something? it was morning that I tried , well dunno how long this reactivation will last. mebbe they will let the server go when the heat dies down. I mean just how long can ya support a server cost when ya bankrupt huh? I think 321 needs to explore a much more permanent solution to legitimate consumers activation concerns everytime one of their products gets reloaded. heck just publish to every consumer the registry modification that activates it. e-mail everyone on there list or sans that just post it onna website!
