Used Meritline 2x DVD-r - 25 Pack $37.25 - burns pretty fast to. Currently using BeAll DVD-r - 25 pack $37.25. Supposed to write at 2x but seem slow - but all BeAll DVD media are currently 20%-30% Off at Meritline. I want to know if anyone has used Shop4Tech 2x DVR-r media by Shop4Tech or Prodisc 2x DVD-r media. I will try both of these next. So far the Meritline 2X are my favorites.

Guys,I just don't know. It just doesn't set well with me to spend more than $0.99 for a -R disc. If the discs are more than a dollar, I won't buy them. Ledas got some reasonably good -R discs for <$1.00 and Ritek & Meritline sells theirs from time to time. I guess its timing. You just have to be there when they offer these specials.

I am ok with staying under 2 bucks for +R or -R and the case.

Buy in bulk and get the 50 - 100 pk of ultra thin cases 9.95 for 50 and 15.95 for 100 at Microcenter. The other type cases are too big and take up a lot of room. I wish I knew where to buy the ultra slim double cases that Khypermedia sells their dbl discs.

spideymac, here are some places where you can find what you need, they are too expensive when compared to the single, but then again, they are saving half the space and 1 is like using 2 of the others, so I guess they balance out the price :)

I guess you recognized me by my stoned script when you called shop4tech :>) When it comes to burn'n discs or weed or for that matter most everything, I'm as sloooooow as can be.

I only use the generic ink for general printing and my backup DVD cover art. To date I haven't noticed any decline in pic quality and some work is 3 years old. I have Sam's Club print my digital stills after I give'em the once over. Can't beat their price of .25 a print with same day delivery. I only use my inkjet if I have a special pic that I want an enlargement of.

I've tried the 1x & 4x princo's from rima.com without a coaster. 1x (can burn at 2x)cost about76Cents apiece and the 4x cost about 99cents apiece.
also tried some optodisc and had way to many bad disk! no more optodisc for me!
and I tried some compusa house brand 1x with no coasters yet! there $24.99 for 25 pack and $44.95 for 50 pack! these burn at 2X.

Guys I know this is about CHEAP media, but I gotta admit i don't mind going to Best Buy and getting TDK 4X +R's. 100 pack for $189.
Cheap? NO, but damn they work GREAT, 4X, never a coaster.
Thanks for the liberty Mr.Roberts, thanks for the liberty.

I also have been using Princo from RIMA (the 76 cent ones)with very good results in Panasonic set-top recorders. The recorder rejected 12 out of 50 Gold OptoDisk before it would start recording on them. Super Media sent refund but got 50 cents on dollar after postage to send them back. These are -Rs.

madyaks, I agree with you, but if you read my post a couple of pages before, you will see that TDK and Memorex are the SAME disc (Ricoh) so if you get your hands on the Memorex special, you are getting the SAME exact disc as the TDK, I know so because I have both including Verbatim which all 3 are the same and Phillip and Ricoh ofcourse..

Let me say here, one more time, BRAND MEANS NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, ZILCH! I used over 100 Verbatim inkjet printable +Rs with perhaps 4 bad pieces. THEN, I got two 20 packs that were all but parhaps one or two bad! BRAND MEANS NOTHING. It's a crap shoot at this stage of the evolution of DVD media. I do believe that burning on 4x media at 2.4 or 2x would increase your success rate. And at the moment that's where I'm at with 100% success through the first 15 pieces. Bought a 10-pack of Optimum (disguised Khypermedia) and am at 50% success rate. Did I say brand means nothing? ;-) All I know is Verbatim has yet to ship me my replacements, 44 of them!

I have used Memorex and had no problems either, I just tried the TDK, no coasters, not out of my price range, so I figure it is worth it to ME not to go looking around until I must. Safe for me is better than cheap, I know several people who buy online, and LOVE their results.
Does anyone else hate -R's as mch as I do? I never can get then to burn right using Nero, if I copy from disk to disk I am fine, but when I burn from image coasters.
DRU510 and Benq. Nero 6.
Thanks for the liberty Mr.Roberts, thanks for the liberty.

John, thanks for the info. Even with the S+H charge that Rima adds, the discs are still only .78 each. These Princos are the same (white tops, purple write side). Have you or anyone else had any experiences good or bad with Rima that they would like to share? What's their delivery time, do they charge your card before shipping, how are products packaged? Arrive OK or damaged. The usual feedback would be appreciated. I've had no problems at all with Shop4Tech.

Have used probably 400 std Princo -R the last few months in set top recorder with no failures and excellent service from RIMA. Have UPS tracking on standard ground shipping and you know just when pkg will arrive. Packed well and in good shape.

Hi All,
I have been using Leda +RW brand for awhile from shop4tech.com and believe they are self manufactured and not Princo. They have been my choice because of price (1.79 each total-free shipping=100 ct) and great quality. I have also used the Ritek +RW from Rima.com with great success and noticed that they are now running a 100 ct. of +RW for 160.00 + 5.81 shipping which puts them at 1.66 each total. Saving a few bucks is always good. My next order will probably be the Ritek from rima.com. One thing for sure, the price on +RW media is slowly coming down.

Thanx guys for the helpful info. I've put all of your suggested sites in my favorites until I can check them out.
However, that white over purple for $0.76 each sounds like the best deal.

I believe shop4tech and meritline have the best selection but not the best prices. I have done a lot of research and find this site to have the best prices for dvd + - media. These 2 links are for dvd-r 2x and dvd-r 4x. Tell me what you think.

You're right about Supermediastore's prices for the Princo DVD-Rs. Even with the S&H they charge, 500 for $300 + $23.68 S&H still comes out to about $.65 each. That's about $.10 per disc (or $80 on the 500)cheaper than shop4tech.
Big question. Who has shopped Supermediastore? Please provide feedback with the overall experience.
TIA,
