This Mode Only works when copying to a image but when you go to a cdr it doesn't work. Its a flaw in the programing. I was on the phone with support and they told me that it should work. they said it might be a problem with my burner but its 1 month old in a new pc. they also said use cdrw until they get back to me.

This is very important: Shut off DPM mode before you even make a disk image, then, copy your disk image to a blank.

I am running XP Pro and I also am getting the error message while it is writing the image, this will not mean anything when you make your copy. Just let it go ahead with the errors, just make sure you have DPM mode off otherwise your copy will not work properly.

I think Win 98 has problems with this particular game copy anyway you do it. But, I got it to work on my son's Win 98. Talk about that later. If you do this in Win XP you should have a perfectly good copy.

Good luck.

I too was perplexed when I first tried to burn a DPM image. I then spent an hour or so reading the downloaded manual. It made it very clear that you cannot burn a CD from a DPM image. A DPM protected game can only play from a hard drive image with the DPM mode turned on. Some of the very newest games use this copy protection. However, after reading the manual, I have made 6 out of 6 perfect burned copies that play on my own computer, my work computer and my old backup computer.

Use DMP ONLY if you original disk will look for data in a specific location on the original disk, you can not burn a disk that will work that does this.

DPM is only supposed to work with the image when mounted on a vertual drive. It WILL NOT work on a burn. Once certain copy protections use this method and a burner will not burn a bit by bit duplicate of an original disk but the image can be made to look like a bit by bit image which is what DPM does.

Often times the only way around using virtual drive is to use the original disk to load the game only, then swap out for the copied disk once the game is fully loaded. I.E. if you are trying to network a game and you have only one original that will not copy correctly, load original on one PC then swap for the copy, move to next PC and do the same, then the third etc.
