I have had the same difficulty. New Laptop with a Hitachi LG GCA 4040N. 2 symptoms. Platinum will enter the finalization mode after only a few seconds of burning the DVD and Platinum will burn the DVD only to hang on the finalization phase. I've produced almost 50 coasters. I've removed all software and made all changes suggested in this forum to no avail. Also followed suggestions of technical support after an hour and a half wait on hold, and those havent worked either. Is Platinum compatible with my DVD RW? Have it been incorporated it into the software or is there a patch?

I want to pass on this link to a post by a guy with the handle dkeystone. The things in his post are what alot of you need to look at. Do everything on his listed steps and it will fix alot of you up.
