I've used dvd x rescue before with no problem - now when I try to run it, it tries to dial up my internet connection (christ knows why) - I select cancel - then the program lookes as though it's about to start up - I hit "ok" or something like that - then it gives me the exception access violation error message (it says: DVDXRescue Exception Access at 00000012 violation" and asks me if I'd like to send off a bug report - if I say no, the whole program ends and more worryingly, my pc usually reboots itself.

I have windows xp with sp1 installed, all latest drivers for everything and anything and the latest version of platinum/rescue.

I have already tried removing all traces of dvdxrescue from my system and reinstalled - no luck - still the same. I have also removed software that I have added since I last time I successfully used rescue - still the same problem.

Any thoughts on this error would be appreciated. I note that on the dvdxcopy "official" forum - someone had this same problem but the official people didn't come up with any answer.

Surely we can't be the only two with this problem????

TIA

Actually, I don't think platinum (which is the program I have) comes with the latest version of rescue. Sorry for any confusion.

Ok, well just spent all day reformatting my hard drive, updated windows, put on SP1, the works....then put on all my 321 software last - everything works fine except.....you guessed it, DVD x rescue.

SO, now can anyone help me please? Conrad or anyone, please cos I'm tearing my hair out here!!

Thanks.
