Express or Platinum uses more of the blank disk for one disk burns?

I am asking this because I am concerned about the compression rate for Express. I'm using plat 3.1.1 which apparently only uses about 4.1g according to posts. However, when I click properties on the burned disk, it only shows a little over 2g. Why?

So, if I choose only to burn to one blank, which program is more efficient in regards to quality, not compression. Thanks for the help.

Oh yeah, should I upgrade to 3.2.1 just for the added 2megs of space able to be written on the blank?

yes upgrade. The latest uses more of the disk. But remember some movies will be less then 4.3 gig so no matter what you it won't fill up the disk. Sometimes the special features take up more space then the movie. And this you can't tell by looking at explorer.
