Has anything new turned up about the analog capture problems with DVD X Maker? I have tried two different capture devices (NVidia and Belkin) with no results (8080 error every time) These devices work just fine in other capture programs (Windows Movie Maker, Roxio DVD builder) but will not work with X Maker. Is anyone working on this problem--there does not seem to be a consensus on what capture devices will work with this program. After capturing with the other programs, the captured mpg files work just fine with X maker, but it would be much better if you could use X maker as the sole program to make a DVD from an analog source. How about a posting of capture devices that do work with X maker?

Why not forward this in 321 Studios' official forum:

They have a section devoted to XMaker. I'm afraid you might not get much help on this forum anymore.

Tried asking this question at 321 forum. So far have been completly ignored. No indication from the company that there is a problem although the forum is filled with capture problems. Calls to tech support get a answer that too bad--use another capture program and import into the 321 program. They seem to miss the point that the main reason to buy the 321 product is to have one program that does it all. So far it does not do it all.

Hey stric9,
Take a look at the 321 forum and you will see
that the moderators are not responding to
problems about x-maker and especially not to capture problems.Everyone is complaining about
getting no info.from 321 about what capture
to buy.Isn't anybody going to help us?

I am waiting just like the rest of you. I can't capture with the program either. My system locks up during the encoding process.

I hope they update soon....... Keep posting on 321 Live, even if you don't get an answer. They are reading those posts. That should encourage them to work harder on a update.

Interesting, I have posted about capture problems on the 321 site and have been edited when trying to discuss how to use XMaker when it does not recognize a capture card. They will not allow any discussion of "third party software" even though this may be the only way that many users can use XMaker, since the software will not recognize most capture cards. They will not list cards that work saaying that if a card did not work they would be "responsible". How resonsible is it to ignore all of the capture problems and then not allow workaround discussions until they fix the program to that it works as advertised. Shame on 321.
