I installed DVDXCopy Xpress on my computer, then when I restared it asked me to select a drive to use with the program. I pressed abort since my DVD-RW does not come until Wedensday, but I want to have the software installed before then.

I started Xpress and got splash screen, then I get a error, kinda looks like an internet explorer error when you do something wrong. I noted that Xpress had caused an error and then it will now be closed. Then it closes and thats it, nothing else happens and it does the same thing.

So I thought maybe something to do with my installation of Windows XP Pro, so I formatted and reinstalled to see if it would solve the problem. It seems that it did not solve the problem.

After reading a thread further down the page which looked similar to my problem. Someone said that you might need to have the writer for xpress to work. DVDXCopy gives me the screen and just says there is no DVD-RW installed, so im guessing that works ok, and will work when I get my DVD-RW.

Thanks for information.

Once you install the drive you may or may not have to reinstall the program. Also check and see if you have service pack for XP.If not install this then reinstall Express

I don't have the service pack, I know since I just reinstalled. I found my old LiteOn JLMS XJ-HD165H drive out so I could just do DVD-ROM to DVD-RW to save some time.

But for some reason my computer thinks its a CD-ROM and will not allow me to access CD or DVD from the drive. I looked around and updated the firmware to C12, but it still it still will not open or access DVD or CD media.

I know this is not a problem with DVDXCopy.

Thankyou.

Icibus,
Download and install Service Pack 1 for XP.You will need it as it supports DVD

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/default.asp

Or you can do a Windows Update and It will let you know to install it.See if it recognizes it after, you may have to uninstall it in Device Mgr. then reboot and let Windows Install New Device Found
