321_Q/A or ME/Platinum users

I've tried searching for discussions about anyone using Millenium (ME) as an OS and Platinum but it is just to difficult to search "ME" as a lot of bad hits are returned and Millenium is seldom used.

My question is does the preview function in Platinum work with the ME OS? This is a very important feature for identfying title sets and has never been available in Xcopy before with ME. FYI: I haven't installed Paltinum yet as I'm waiting on the sidelines until a more stable version comes online

If this most valuable feature isn't available for ME, can it be added to a future version so 98/ME folks aren't left out?
TIA,
Spaced

Hey spaced,

I'm not using WinME anymore, so I can't test this, but WinME includes a Windows compatibility mode that makes the OS operate like Windows 98 or 95 and identify itself to a specific application as the selected OS.

Do a help search for compatibility mode and follow the instructions. There were several kids games (Sesame Street, etc.) that I could only make work using Windows 98 settings.

If you still have DXC installed, try changing the Run As setting to Win 98, and see if the preview shows.

Good luck,

thanks 4Xburner

I believe the compatibility mode you are refering to is in XP. I've checked and the only compatibility mode that ME has is the MS-DOS mode for hard disk problems. Is this what you are talking about?

On another note, it would be nice if 321_Q/A or another 321 employee provided some feedback to my original request, like does the Platinum preview function work with ME or will 321 look into it in the future. I've asked this same ME question in the past and never have received a reply from 321_Q/A or other 321 employee.

321_Q/A, just as a case in point another FREE backup software program does provide a "Preview" function with ME as an OS. Why can't 321's products?
