In a scenario where you use a dvd rom drive to read, and then a dvd burner, I would like to see Platinum recognize that there is burnable media in the burner and automatically burn after reading from the dvd rom drive. Not a huge deal, but kind of pain to have to click Start to write. Especially if you plan on being away for awhile. I started using 321 products with Platinum, but I think I've read that this is an option on other versions of the software.

Its an option on the simple mode of platinum also. Just put in the blank before you start and it will offer you the option.

I have the same problem using Platinum. I put in the blank media in the drive before I start anything else. I check to make sure my settings are pointing to it. Yet it still waits for me to press start when it is ready to write. My reader is an internal RAM device, my burner is an HP300e external. I'm used to be able to start, step away, and come back to a completed disc. This is also the same problem in SIMPLE, but worse.I have to actually copy the VIDEO_TS folder somewhere and burn it with NERO because it never starts writing.I hope this is soon fixed.

This option works fine for me in simple mode, but I generally use advanced so I can change the compression settings. It would be nice to have this feature there as well.

Thank you whompus!!! This is an answer I have been searching for awhile, Platinum advance NOT detecting a blank disc. 321's tech support was telling me it was my OS (XP SP1), lack of drivers, and other untruth horrors (I am a multimedia computer tech for a college by trade, so I know my stuff a little bit :) )that just wasn't so. Now if this is ever fix, Platinum Advance(I am using the latest version) would be truly a gift from the gods.
