I've finally gotten DVD X Gold (with copy and xpress) to work with my TDK combo burner, after some kind assistance from Conrad.
I am reluctant to remove these programs from my system since they now work very successfully.
What I want to know is: can I install platinum and still have my existing dvd x programs work?

I think the answer to that is yes as setup will install into a new directory.

Ok, well I guess that the two programs do work side by side each other - however I think others should be made to know that the xpress (a.k.a. "Simple Mode") doesn't work with the tdk/nec 1300A burners so you should use your original version of xpress instead, if that makes any sense!

yes it does cygnus...I have that burner and have that same problem but I don't think it affects just that drive as others have the same prob. You can get around this though if you do as I did and copy the xpress burn engine over to the platinum folder. Just overwrite the platinum version file and it will then work. I've been using it for the last week...no coasters ;-)

Can you tell me exactly which files I need to copy over please? I trust this will only update the simple mode drivers and not the advanced mode drivers?

Go to your Express folder and copy your express.exe file then paste this into the platinum folder and simple mode will now work for you.
