Awhile back a friend and I bought Sony DRU-510A DVD writers.
He also purchased DVD X Copy Xpress.
About a week ago he came over and installed his copy on my system to show me how easy it was to use. For the last week I have used this program (it was version 3.0.2 according to the properties of the executable) to burn few DVDs. It was so easy to use that I
decided to purchase my own copy.
After visiting your web site and looking at the other products, I decided to purchase the platinum version. Not that I really need the other functionality...but I like to reward developers of innovative software
products.
After uninstalling my friends Xpress version and installing the Platinum version I tried to copy more of my collection.
I have yet to be able to make a single backup. The program simply refuses to recognize any blank disc I insert.
I subsequently reinstalled my friends version without uninstalling my platinum version. Using this much cheaper Xpress version, I was able to make backups....but am still unable to use my more expensive Platinum version.
Now, revisting your website, it appears as if I also do not have the money back option enjoyed by my friend who purchased the less expensive version.
So it now appears as if I am stuck paying nearly $150 for a version that simply won't work (and I can't return), and must use a bootleg version in order to have a useable product.
What gives?!! Why can't I download the standalone Xpress version that is included with the (non-functional) "Platinum" version.
I tried to run the Xpress executable from the platinum directory on its own, but recieved an error about some file from some directory on E: drive not being available.
Please advise, as I have paid for software that I can't use, and am only able to use a copy I didn't pay for. I would really prefer to have a refund for this super duper (non-functional version) and simply buy
the working cheaper Xpress version.
BTW, your online email form also doesn't work!!...go figure.
First, you DO still have a money back guarantee. Better yet, there are lots of people here willing to help you get your software up and running.
If you wish a refund, start out by sending a PM to 321_Q/A. If you want the Platinum, which will give you a lot more control over your copies, start by posting your system info.
Also, those of us that have been using this software for a long time know and remember that 321Studios sends out patches and improved free upgrades almost weekly.
wow...that platinum thread was really easy to find!!! :^þ
Might as well just hide it....but thats for the great input...I hope you are sharing it when all the others that are posting in the same area so that they can make duplicate posts also.
But I will repost where you suggest...thanx
As for weekly patches...I can't get any reply from 321...moreless hear anything about a patch
A PM to 321_Q/A? I hope this isn't incinuating that I use thier form mail system. Spent an hour of fun trying that with no availe...it simply gave errors whenever I posted. If this is for another email addy, will be willing to send my email to any and all that can help (but seems I'm simply being pointed elsewhere for now)
so...I will repost in the approporiate place (thanx ireland) with my system particulars (even though I have no conflicts at all with one product) and find a way to send a PM to 321_Q/A (whatever that may be)

A PM is under the person's name to the left of the text. It stands for "Send Private Message".

Try disabling the plextor cd burner for a test run. Some people have found that a cd burner with a dvd burner in same system is causing this. That will not be the final fix but if it works you can see if the functionality of platinum is to your liking. Keep in mind its a work in progress with many updates to come.

I will give a try this weekend sometime.
But it still begs the question as to why 3.02 standalone DVD Xpress doesn't mind it, while the the DVD XCopy platinum simple mode (run either thru the main app or from its own icon) doesn't.
