Is there a way to save the key or whatever i recieve from x copy when i reactivate version 4038.they are very good about giving more activations ,yet it would be nice to have a cd copy or floppy of this information they put or send to my computer to activate my x copy program.I somrtimes have to wait for weeks to get reactivations and to just throw in the key on a disk would be wonderful.

THIS USE TO WORK 3-YEARS AGO,I HAVE NOT TRIED IT SINCE,AS I DO NOT USE THE VSOLFWARE ANY MORE AS I MOVED ON..
YOU NEED A COMPUTER THAT HAS THE PROGRAM INSTALLED ON BUT NOT ACTIVATED...SELECT THE ACTIVATE FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER OPTION...NOW TAKE THAT FILE TO A COMPUTER THAT HAS A INTERNET CONNECTION..CLICK ON IT..AND DOWNLOAD THE ACTIVATION FILE..TO A FLOPPY...AND THEN INSTALL IT ON THE NONE ACTIVATED COMPUTER..

edit 8/13/04 - I had to find out for myself. IT IS TRUE, THE ACTIVATIONFILE.REG IS TIME SENSITIVE AND DOESN'T WORK AFTER TIME
I RECOMMEND EVERYBODY DOING THIS!!
I just finished a clean install on my other pc just to test this ... and it works!!
1) You'll need a pc that doesn't have your XCopy product(s) activated on. If you don't have one, you'll need to do a clean install ... Sorry :-)
2) Install your XCopy Product, of course reboot
3) When you go to activate, choose "activate from another computer".
4) It will create a internet activation file, open this. It will take you to a login screen, verifying your contact info. Click "Next".
5)Download the ActivationFile.reg and save it to a floppy.
6) Now open the floppy, click the activation file and your done
NOTE: I did the activation with all traffic blocked, so it didn't even check with any servers. You can make several activation files, you just have to rename them.
Oh, activations worked on both XCopy Platinum RF and GamesXCopy
edit 8/12/04 - Well I guess this is not our solution. Reports are that the activationfile.reg is time sensitive :-(
