The system is a new gigabyte motherboard with 32 Meg TnT2 AGP and 128 Meg DDR running Windows ME (OEM) from a fresh install.
I paid for the program online and then downloaded the full version as prompted. I ran the download and it then told me to go online to activate. I did this, following all prompts for registration but whren it got to the activation animation it just semi-hung there.. Status: Not activated.
I then read the FAQ's and tried activating using the short date format mm/dd/yyy which IS different than my regional setting. Tried again.. still no success. So then I read further and tried the "activate using another PC with internet access". did the initial floppy, got the reisistry upgrade/installer and then went back to the other PC (new one. Celeron 2.4 Ghz CPU) and followed prompts. It said it was succesful but upon runnig the proggie again it failed, stating it couldn't find the regisrty entry.
Tried uninstaling, everything again..no success. Support just keeps telling me I have 2 unlocks left but nothing else postive except what the FAQ's already said. The only other thing may be the time difference (by day) between the regions so I've tried it using -8Hours GMT for USA actual time and our +10 hours GMT (18 hours back) but still no joy.
I'm of the unhappy opinion that not knowing about the date/day requirement first up the registry may be locking out any successful instal using the required settings.
I then came across your excellent forum and have now waited for the 2 days to be able to lay my problem before you.
I await your answer nervously.
