I can't get platinum to work at all in advance mode everything is greyed out except preview button when i select a title set and press preview I get error stating (Failed to initiater filter.install all the direct x filters comming with setup) I then click ok and then I see (Preview fatal error can not render) I have direct x 9.0b installed. I also have a problem in simple mode it seems to read the disc fine but whe its time to write it comes up error (Program has performes ilegal operation) I never had this problem using xpress 2.5.1

One thing at a time.
In the Advanced mode the screen will list titles with a little + sign next to them. Right next to that there's a little blank gray box. Place your cursor over that little gray box and click it. It should place a check mark in that little gray box and all the other functional buttons will highlight on your screen.

I have the DVD X Copy Platinum
Everything is working fine except that went I go to preview video it give me a window that it read “FAILED to initiate filter. Install the entire DirectX filter coming with setup”
I check and I have the latest DirectX version.
What can be the problem?

Are you actually selecting a title that can be previewed?
Look for a title that has a lot of chapters, select it with a checkmark in the little gray box, highlight it and then click the preview button.

The thin is I can preview the title but it always give me

Install Platinum again right over the top of your existing Platinum installation.
See if that cures it.

Right now I reinstall some applications and it doesn't give me the problem with DirectX.
Now my question is when I preview the file selected should I hear audio.

Wright now I have another problem first I copy the DVD to my drive an then it's ask me to put a blank DVD and I click continue and it start but 3 seconds later it tell me the DVD is ready so it didn't record anything to my DVD.

I am making a machine for editing video so I install a program for editing (Avid), also the program that came with the DVD burner (Nero, a DVD player,etc) and some upgrade of Windows XP.
I uninstall the DVD x copy platinum and I reinstall but sill don't record to DVD.

Could you tell us what your O/S is and if it's got the latest Service Pack. Service Pack 1 or 1a for XP, Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000.
What is the model of your burner and does it have the latest firmware.
What version of Nero do you have installed and is Nero's InCD installed?
