If you have NERO Burning ROM put the DVD-RW you want to erase in your DVD Burner drive and go into the NERO program. Then in the NERO Burning ROM window - 1) Click "Recorder", 2) Click "Choose Recorder" in the drop-down menu, 3) Click your DVD Burner Drive in the "Choose Recorder" window and then click the "OK" button at the bottom of that window, 4) Click "Recorder" again when you go back to the NERO Burning ROM window, 5) Click "Erase ReWritable" in the drop-down menu, 6) The "Erase CD-RW" window should come up and indicate "Quick-erase rewritable media" (if not, select it) then click the "Erase" button at the bottom of the window. When the burner drive stops the DVD should be erased. You can check it by clicking "Recorder" in the NERO Burning ROM window and then click "Medium-Info" in the drop-down menu.

You can also simply write over it. I'll do a full erase every 20-30 burns, but otherwise I just write over what's there.
