i hope someone can help me.
I am new to comp's and have purchased dvdexpress & dvdcopy xpress.
FIRST PROBLEM: dvdexpress is burning fine to dvd/r but will not burn to dvd/rw dvd's
also the movies when burned onto dvd will play only on desktop,but they freeze at the start when i put them into my normal dvd player(which does normally play copied dvd's without a problem)
SECOND PROBLEM:dvd express in doing the same as dvd express it will burn to dvd/r but not to dvd/rw.
the movie burns fine for the first dvd but when i insert the dvd to write the movie the file freezes at 66%

How much compression does xpress do to the video? Is there a way to determine how much before I burn so I don't lose any quality? I hate wasting discs if I'm not going to get original video quality.

I have had dvdcopy xpress since it came out, and have allways been able to burn to dvd-rw's.
It could be that you are low on resources, also make sure you have your virus program disabeled as it could be checking the dvd while it is being burned.
