Start With Movie Keep Menu

When DXCX 3.0 works its awesome. However, I loathe menus on dvs. I loathe having to sit through the menu just to get to the movie.

DXC allows us to Start With Movie Keep Menu.
Could we see the same with DXCX 3.0 when utilizing the "entire disc" option?

Just a thought...

But Dengar, is that not the whole idea behind backing-up the *whole* disc?

Whole disc _means_ menus-included. Perhaps you want your discs to play back in linear-fashion -- all material (movie first), followed by all 'bonus' stuff played back-to-back. I think you're going to have to wait for Platinum on that one. Also, trust me, you wouldn't want ALL the stuff backed-up either, unless you like to see Menu-screens zip by at light-speed.

You require Title Set Manipulation, methinks. Selective re-choosing. Dumping extraneous stuff like multiple foreign-language soundtracks and film trailers (which will save tons of bits for the stuff you DO want to keep). You are talking about re-authoring the disc.

Platinum, my friend. We will have to wait. (And yes, I hate menus as well).

With all due respect my intergallactic friend, I know the point of backing uo the entire disc is to keep menus and all.

Most of my backups have been with DXC 1.5.2. With that product I backup the whole disc, menus included. However, I always choose to start with the movie, keep menu.

I much prefer watching my backups because the movie starts right away. No need to wait for the menu or any of the other crap.

Nor do I think this option will ever be included in DXCX. I just wanted to throw it out there.

And I wasn't really talking about re-authoring the disc either. You and I can both re-author any dvd we want at anytime already. Hell if I wanted to insert my own special warning screen, porngraphic image, or what have you, I could, and I know damned well you can too.

I just think it would be cool with DXCX if we could choose to backup the entire disc, but have it start with movie keep menu like in DXC.

As far as waiting for Platinum, I hear you. I am really looking forward to the flexibility it will allow. I just hope it gets here before I die.

(Gotcha).

I've been very pleased with XPress which is why I tend to forget that some folks prefer to slog over to their dvd players for the 'fun' of changing movies half-way through (unless you have a changer), because as they (the purists) say, "A pixel is a terrible thing to waste". <gg>

(No, honestly, I see your point now - everything included in XPress, but start off immediately with the movie). And yes, I bet there is very little left that you and I cannot now do with any given dvd, episodic or not. -- Mike --
