My Friend has this too, and his works fine. The problem i have with mine is that it ask me to put in the dvd i want to burn, so i put it in and the "start" botton turns green(wich means that i can start to read the DVD) after it is done it says step 2 of 2: insert blank DVD. I put in my blank DVD, iv tried a dvd+R 4x and a DVD+R 16x and netiher work. it is soppose to have the "start" botton turn green and then download it onto the blank DVD. But it does not turn green so i can not make a copy.
now i was wondering if any of you guys could help me out. Like do i need a differnt type of blank DVD, or do i need to download a new program or somthing.
All i know about my computer is that it is a Dell and it has two spots for DVD/CDs one says DVD rom(the top one) and the bottom says DISC rewritable on it.(im sorry i know that is not a lot of information but plz help)
-plz help me, iv been trying to get this to work 4 about 10 weeks(srry it this post is so long)

look in device mgr, under dvd/cd-roms drives.
righ click my computer, properties, hardware, click on device manager, then dvd/cd-roms drives
meaning the top one is a dvd rom,it reads the dvd movie..

hey. im srry that i keep asking you questions but,
the website you sent me was really good(thanks), but my friends dad who is pretty smart with computers was telling me that i have a 5.25" and the DVD burners on that website all say they are 5", he said hes not sure if my computer comes with adjustable guide rails for mounting since the HP is 5" wide and 5.25" is the space available. The burner needs to be secured
to the frame and the HP website says it comes with screws, but no mounting
rails. he asked if my Dell uses mounting rails for the CD burner.
is there a way i can fond out if my computer has them.if there is a way and there is none, is there a way i can get them.Or do you think that the 5" would fit into the 5.25"?
-i have no idea what the hell to do
--thanks for all your elp(im srry if i confused you im not that good with computers)
