I have a DVR-106 (the "OEM" twin to the A06) and can report the following:

It's lighter, smaller and looks/feels "cheaper" than the Pioneer A04/104. It also lacks a fan like the A04/104. It would seem they've cut some corners but hopefully none that really matter?

It seems to work fine with both DXC (1.5.2 default Gear engine) and Xpress (2.5.2). It burns Ritek 4X DVD-Rs in about 10 - 15 minutes (including finish/finalization) depending on the amount of data! So far, I've only used Ritek 4X DVD-R media in it but haven't had any coasters yet.

I'm hoping Ritek comes out with some reasonably priced double sided 4X meda. This drive can probably make a 2 disc backup with DXC faster than a 2X drive can do it onto one disc with Xpress.
