Why are they giving away a drive " NEC ND-1100A DVD+RW " that has issues with their
software?

Must be someone who had problems and it is a way to get rid of that burner. ;)

So is it a bad burner?

I was just joking. It is not a bad burner, but at this time, it might have some problems running DVDXCopy and/or Xpress. That burner does work for the great majority that use it, and 321Studies knows and is working on a way to get it working even better with their software.

That's sounds like a press release answer.

You basically repeated the same thing that
stated on the above link.

Which brings me back to the original ? of
if they know that they're issues with this
drive, then why give it away as a prize?

I just made a rhyme! Kewl!

I only ask this because I am one of the
winners of this "maybe" problematic drive.

Yea, that drive is no good, dump it as fast as you can. But let me tell you what I can do for you: I will even give YOU a few bucks sent me the drive, problem solved, everyone happy.

Press release answer? I am a truck driver by trade, with a whole lot of computer background (over 20 years). What the fu** does that have to do with the answer I gave? You weren't able to understand the answer I gave the first time, so I elaborated it for you the second time. Do you want to ask me to repeat it a third time? Since you asked again, do you want me to use words with less that 3 letters?

ou812,
Glad to hear you won,I played it also and would have gladly accepted the drive. Most likely this was done with the marketing dept. Some people have had problems with the NEC drive, not all, as I have seen many posts as to people using it and have no problems.

You got the same answer because you asked the same question. I never accused you of "taking up my valuable time" or of you "bothering" me. Not sure why you are firing on me with that "Hmmmmmm.......ok.
Senior Moderator.....hmmmmmmmm." phrase either.

All I was pointing out is that the NEC burner does work for the great majority and that 321Studios is working on getting it even better.

We purchased 30 of these brand new burners in advance of running the movie quote game. The drive has been tested with our software and that's why we bought it.

If you are having trouble making the drive work with your system, you should contact tech support and our customer service team will work with you to resolve your problems.

These drives cost us over $200 a piece and we thought it would be a good idea to run this contest and give away these drives.

But as always, there is nothing you can do that won't cause at least some people to complain about everything they can.

:)

Robert,

I have to agree with you on the fact there is nothing wrong with the burners. The problem occurs with the individuals setup on their computer. The lack of knowledge from install of the unit, to lack of knowledge of software, to the lack of knowledge in burning DVDs.

There is absolutely *NO* need for you to feel guilty in the choice of equipment you are providing in the movie quote game. Whats the old saying, Give them a slice of bread, they will want the whole loaf.

I have been here a long time my friend, and there is no need to explain anything on this *NON* issue.

Cheers,
Jaybo
