Hey Gang,

I'm just getting my feet wet and hoped to get a few opinions. I have the Sony DRU500AX and am ordering the latest DVDXCopy. Last step for me is to choose the media, and I'm not sure which is the best choice. Obviously I'd like the best stand alon eplayer compatibility, but it seems like both Accu and Ritek work very well with a wide range.

From all the threads I read, it seems that -R is the way to go. I went to Meritlines website and saw quite a few different choices for each brand of media and different cost ranges. I definately want to keep my budget down.

Is there an overall opinion on Ritek and Accu? (They seem to be the most popular from what I've read, Accy seems to be less expensive than Ritek). And for each.. which type of media is ok to use (Accu has media from $.81 to $1.15 - Ritek has $1.39 up to $3.99).

Sorry if these are extreme newbie question? I just want to use what little money available the best I can.

Thanks for any help / advice.
-Dave

I have the Sony DRX 500AX and all I use are accus. They are among the least expensive and my Sony burns the 1x at 2x. I have also used Riteks in the past with no complaints.

My Sony ha loved every brand of media I've tried. It even gets along well with K-Hypermedia. I've burned 50 of those with no coasters and 100% compatinility.

But if I had to choose between Accu and Ritek I would choose Accu simply because they are a little cheaper.

I mainly use the accu-r's because of the price. I was thinking of switching cause I think I may have gotten a bad batch.
