Could someone tell me how one knows when they are sent a PM and how one goes about reading it? I have no idea as to how this works and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hey Rag-Tag 12,

I just got a PM and when I click on the URL all I get is the message "you need to login first". I am logged in so why can't I read the message?

Thanks

At the top of the forum page see where it says Afterdawn.com? Click on that.

Then on the left you'll see different links. Click on the one that says "Forums".

Once you are there look at the top. It will say Log In. Click on that.

Then all you have to do is input your user name and password, then after that you will see at the top a link that says Private Messages, click on that.

Dengar,

Got the PM but it wasn't the one I was looking for. I left a post for RHMoore on the Chat with the President Forum and he responded to PM him and he would send me a download link.

The PM I just checked was a test message from 72Morgan. Now I'm not sure if I sent the PM too the right person or if he responded and I deleted the email responce by accident. I'll wait a few more days and if I don't here from him try to resend it.

Thanks for all your help. As you can tell I as new and green like fresh apples. LOL

Just give Mr Moore some time. He is very busy and it is the weekend. When you are on the front page of the Private Message screen you can see all of the private message that you have recieved. If the one you want is not there then it hasn't been sent yet. You didn't delete anything.

You can access any PM you have ever received. Mine go back for many months.

I'll send you a PM and you can see what I mean. Also, I want you to send me one so you can become familiar with all aspects of the PM system.

What I do when I get a PM is this:

Open your e-mail cut/copy the link to the PM so you can paste it later:

Go to Afterdawn.com....Log out ....then Log back in ...paste the link into the address bar... hit enter ...... you now have your PM`s.....

In order to get PM's you have to be able to accept cookies. You either have your security up to high to allow cookies or you are sitting behind a firewall. You need to lower your protection to be able to log into the system.

I have heard from some that they were only able to get PMs after they changed their settings to accept the newsletter from Afterdawn.

I finally got into my PM's thanks too Dengar. Like he told me, I went to the Afterdawn.com URL, on the left side I clicked on Forums. When the forum page came up I logged in and after logging in the forum page showed a link on the top for Private Messages. I clicked on the link and lo and behold, there they were.

Thanks again Dengar. I sent a reply back too you.

Dengar,

I just noticed that in the box where my name is it only shows EDIT MESSAGE and does not show the SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE. Do you have any idea why it don't give the SEND PM?

I'm still waiting to hear from RHMOORE. I sent him two PM's with regards to what I PM'd you about.

You can only send a PM to other people and not to yourself. If you want to send a PM to another person than go to that persons name and the Send Private Message will be there.
