I have recently purchased dxdxcopy the latest version. I have installed the program and I am using win xp profesional, a sony vaio pcg-f650 laptop and the dvd writer is external. I can save to my external drive but I cannot burn the dvd directly to the dvd writer (hp 3000e ext writer). Reading some of the other forums and the speeds at which they burn something must be wrong. My computer has a pent III 12G harddrive but I use my ext drive for most of what I want. To make a long story short I am not that familiar with the inner workings of settings so would anyone be able to assist me in getting my burning done faster?

sayquan,
I'll just throw this out. Your HP DVD external burner is Firewire/USB 2.0. If you're connecting the burner to the Sony laptop's USB port I'll bet that that port on the Sony is USB 1.1, which is substantially slower. That's probably why you're seeing sloooooowwwww burning. If all the above is correct you're actually lucky, some folks can't get it to burn anything.
If I'm wrong please post back.

Actually I have upgraded to a usb 2.0 with a pci card. By trial and error...and alot of questions I have been able to get it to work. Now my question is it took 14 hours to read but 26 mins to burn. How can I speed up this process.

14 hour's to read? That is not anywhere near normal.
Is this on every movie you've tried or just one?
And could you explain what you're doing with what. From your message it seems like you're reading from your laptop ROM drive to an external HD which is connected via firewire or USB? Then you're trying to burn using the files from your external HD directly to an external HP burner connected via firewire or USB?. Can you tell us how those devices are connected?
