I purchased the 1.4.2 version and have upgraded to 1.5.2. The Drive I ma using is TDK 440N. Media being used Verbatim/Khypermedia DVD-R. The problems I am having is both reading as well as writing.

Probem 1:

When I put in the DVD few of them it is able to read and on most of them it gives me error

Error reading source Disk, Abort/retry/Ignore.

Problem 2:

The ones Its able to read and when I start the process to burn its gives me error,

"The current volume type (DVD) is not writable on the current Disc type
(CD). The Disc is not successfully recorded".

If I hit OK it gives me message,

gear-wrks volume and CD-R do not match for writing and if I hit OK it goes back to the same "Burn" screen.

Please help me with where I am doing wrong and what needs to be done to get it working.

regards

I have same DVD drive, and same problems. Try using DV+R disks instead ov DV-R. They seem to work. Also, the trial version of Xpress works with the TDK drive and DV-R disks
