Can anyone tell me if they have been able to copy a movie with the NEC-1100A? I have tried four times and each time (i have used the latest demo and the express software) It will rip the movie, and burn a little bit on the DVD (ruining it) and then either eject the disk or the program will stop responding (it cause a DVDRW to lock up and I now cant erase it). Has anyone gotten this to work???
I have a Dell 8250 a NEC 1100 A, 512MB RAM, a 2.8Ghz pentium 4 and roughly 30 GB free...
I didnt see the NEC 1100 on the suported drives list... help!!

I've backed up probably 50 movies with the NEC-1100A using DXCX. I have encountered a few movies that only partially copy. DXCX doesn't report any errors, but on playback only the first 10-15 chapters are copied.

Have you tried downloading the firmware update for the DVD burner from the Dell site?

No, I only found out about the firmware upgrade today. I will try it when I get home. Were you able to copy dvds before you got the firmware patch?

I had problems backing movies up to DVD+RW before the path but not to DVD+R's. After the patch, I can back up to either.

HEY!!!!!!!!
HOLY SMOKES!!! IT WORKED!!!!! WOW!!!

Damn! That DVD copy warning IS annoying; oh, well... not a big thing.

Question... I was trying to back up SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS for my kid who has ruined the first copy I got him... It requires TWO disks... Is there any way to decide what all the extras are on the disk and leave them out??? This way I can put the episodes on ONE disk??? And hey... If he destroys that disk (he's such a little tyrant) Ill make him another
