Having major problems with tis software now. I have been using DVDNExtCopy for some time and was using 1.41 with great results. I then came across Deal Or No Deal which I could not back-up so thought if I updated the software to 1.7 then it may work. Since I updated this or no other program will work. It goes through the whole process and says a copy has been done but when it comes to play back then I only get the introduction (on Simpsons S8). I tried to uninstall every burning software I had on my pc and reinstall (including machinist)but still no joy. This is the same on 2 different computers that I updated. The only other thing that was updated was a windows update. Out of all the programs that are available non of them will now work with the exception of DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink but I wanted a one click program like this which was working well.
Any ideas !!!
I have put in support tickets but no joy as yet so thought somebody else may have some ideas
thanks

InterActual Player
PC Friendly Player
Nero INCD
Hp-DLA
Direct CD
NewDotNet domains
Gator
OfferCompanion
Also, DVD copying software can sometimes conflict with the software:
Clone dvd
DVD Cloner
Nero 6 or 7
Roxio 6,7,8,
Shrink
Decrypter
DVDFab Decrypter
DVDFab Platinum
1 Click DVD copy
DVD Wizard Pro
ICopyDVDs2
DVD95Copy

If you have any of those installed, you should consider disabling or uninstalling those and reinstall there software and try there software again.

Uninstalled all the programs that might conflict and then run thorough scan checks and anti-virus checks and then defragged then put back on the software but still no joy.
They have contacted me again saying there will be an update 1st December so hopefully that may resolve the issue

New update is out xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
3-day trial
DVD neXt COPY V2.1.3.4
It is a much more user friendly and powerful program now. We have added
special features which will now allow DVD neXt COPY to work with other DVD
copy software. We no longer have a conflicting programs list.
“You can use DVD neXt COPY to make a backup copy of personally authored DVDs
or non protected movies. Many commercial movies are protected. Not all
movies are protected. Unfortunately, current interpretation of laws in some
countries, including the US, prohibits distribution of software that has the
ability to copy commercial movies. In order to backup DVD movies which are
protected, an additional file is required.
May people live outside the United States, and the laws in other countries
are not the same as those in the U.S. If you live in a country where you are
allowed to freely use available DVD software you can download this plugin
and use it for purposes permitted in your country.
If you live in the United States, please understand that the Digital
Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) passed in 1998 does not expressly prohibit
consumers from making backup copies of digital works - only the sale &
distribution of tools that circumvent copy prevention technologies.
Just download and install.
Note: Make sure you close DVD neXt COPY before you install any Third Party
Plugins.”

My problems with V2.1.3.4 are: 1) The Windows XP Autorun cannot find a .dll, so I needed to start V2.1.3.4 manually and 2) when the copy completed, V2.1.3.4 could not find my DVD burner.
Uninstalled V2.1.3.4 and re-installed V1.7.5.0 and both problems were fixed.

I am running Vista 6000 with V2.1.3.4 and I keep getting the same problem after backing up a DVD to my hard drive, when I then try to burn HI ALL
it to a blank DVD, whether it is R+RW+DL.
I just keep getting a message no writeable media, no matter which DVD writer I choose.
So I removed the V2.1.3.4 software, and reinstalled V1.7.5.0 and it now works 85%.
I hope this is just a glitch, as you get with a new release and the problem will be rectified ASAP?

Vista has DRM (Digital Rights Management) controls to stop video copying. Vista Ultimate also has a DVD making software program. You maybe experiencing software conflicts between the two programs.

Hi
Thanks’ for the replied E-mail
So from you e-mail, I gather that DVDnextcopy / Vista Ultimate are not compatible with each other.
Could you please confirm this, as I have only had DVDnextcopy software for 4 weeks.
Thanks’ once gain

Does the DVDXCopy Moderator have any comments regarding my problems with V2.1.3.4 that were mentioned earlier? 1) The Windows XP Autorun cannot find a .dll, so I need to start V2.1.3.4 manually, and 2) when the copy completes, V2.1.3.4 can not find my DVD burner.
I just keep getting a no writeable media message.
So I uninstalled V2.1.3.4 and re-installed V1.7.5.0 and both problems were fixed.

Back in March of this year BILLADAMS mentioned on this thread that his burns would only play in machines with burners. I have experienced the same problem, although intermittently with DL burns.
This includes not playing in set-top DVD players or even, sometimes, another computer with a burner of a different model (not DL). In fact, they only seem to play in the PC where they were created. My Sony DVD player plays other burns on the same DVD+R/DL media made in the same burner. Is it that the disc is not "closing" properly? Is there some adjustment of setting to force a good closing?
I never had this problem with DVDXCOPY, but only since upgrading to DVDNextCopy.
Any thoughts? Thanx!
