Mods - it would be very helpful if a sticky or poll could be created where users could discuss what episodic DVDs can be backed up and which cannot.

I understand that with 1.4.1 that Farscape and Babylon 5 are working.

If we can't get a sticky can someone create a dicussion thread for this.

I've had troubles with:
Gasaraki (dvd-5, used dvddecrypter ISO mode)
Dirty Pair
Simpsons Season 2 (extra features won't copy)
GI Joe 2-disc

Been able to copy:
*Robotech
*Married With Children
*Transformers Season 1, 2 (DXC 3.1)
>Beast Wars Vol1,2 (Keep extras. Split before ch1 of Titleset7, and bring Title6 up from disc2. Burn 1st disc, then cancel. Reset up as before, but place all smaller menus and titlesets on Disc 2, burn only disc 2 with a Start Normal for the Disc)
>Babylon 5 (Discs 1-3, 5 split before Ch 13. Disc 4 split before Ch 7, discard Titleset 4 from Disc 2. Disc 6 include titlesets 1, 3 &4. for single disk. Disc 2 would have extras? I didn't bother with that tho.)

* Choose to discard extras. You will have to play around with the episodes to get them to line up sequentially on each disc, and do 2 burns, one for each disc to get all menu items on both discs.

Using 1.4.1

24 First season works with 1.3.1 but not 1.4.1.

In 1.4.1, DVDX does not see the whole disk. It splits into two disks that seem to add up to less than one DVD.

Ok, Six Feet Under Season One. Only tried disk one and it copies the 1st episode onto one disk. The other two episodes end up on another disk. None of the extras copied over, but after viewing them, I couldn't care less- at least I have the episodes.

Six Feet Under backups report. Disk One Copies, as well as Disk Two- both with menus. Disk Three UNCOPYABLE...it tries to put 4.9 gb onto the second disk, which is over the 4.7 limit, therefore you are unable to continue. Disk four can only be copied without menus, which resulted in problems playing on my panasonic dvd player. It worked on my toshiba, however, but to get it to play resulted in some flaky things I had to do. So, 321 studios, please look into releasing an update that allows you to copy disks 3 & 4 properly- Thanks again, this product has just been great otherwise

2) 24--NO (as mentioned above)
3) The Civil War (Ken Burns)--NO

Unfortunately, I can't seem to do much with Monty Python's Flying Circus - the 14-disc boxed set. Although only three of the 14-discs are dual-layer, any *three* episodes should fit comfortably on a dvd5 without transcoding. (On 11 of the discs, they already do).

DXC choked when trying to burn Disk 1 of "Sex and the City - Third Season". Symptoms: 1)Copied Disk 1 ok 2)Loaded clean DVD 3)Clicked on "Burn Now" 4)DVD immediately auto-ejected 5)Message popped up: "Waiting for disk to be inserted" 6)After same DVD reinserted another message popped up -- "Aborted by user. DVD-Video files sorted."
Otherwise the product has performed like a star to back up non-episodic movies. One hint: I shut down all apps and disable all Network Connections during every burn. I am running Version 1.4.1 (w/Gear drivers) on P4 2.00Ghz, 1GB memory, 80GB HD (20% utilized),and SONY DRU-500A w/1.0g firmware using DVD+R (Meritline).

I having trouble with Gundam Wing.
It seems to put Ep 5 in front of 4. Of disc 1.
I thought is would be OK as long as I could copy the menu on the second disc, then just pick ep 4.
But when I tried to start with menu I got a black paused screen and it locked up my player.

I know - I'm so excited about Ver 1.5 to improve an already terrific product (and company), I can hardly wait. I'm checking the site hourly -- hoping it will be out today or this week.

imagine what the platinum will be like. ;)

I don't understand why others are rushing to dvd2one, instant copy, etc...to me they suck. I want to keep the same quality as the original dvd..isn't that the whole purpose here?

Absolutely. As a backup tool, this product is the best. I have two young kids and they are ROUGH on handling DVDs, CDs, etc -- It's "Scratch City!" when they get their hands on these. Now I can back up the DVD master and put it away and view the backups.

Did someone try to back up DUNE? The first DVD have two episodes. DXC only see the second one and not the first one. The second DVD have only one episode so there is no problem. Any trick or should I wait for 1.5 to see if it workes ?
