How Can I Get DVD-X-Copy Special Edition WinXP/2000 to Work?

I have the Special Windows XP/2000 Only Edition of DVD-X-Copy that came in the green-and-black box along with a license number and password. It does not install properly under Windows XP Pro SP2. When the installation forces a reboot, it never resumes after the reboot as the on-screen instructions claim. The same thing happens when I click on the Install Drivers button, which does not seem to install any drivers. The Install Drivers process never resumes after forcing a reboot.

So, I tried to copy a DVD, which the DVD-X-Copy program stated would all fit on one disk. It read all files off of the original DVD, but would not burn a copy onto a CD-R in my DVD-writer drive using the default burn engine, (I don't have the version of Nero that DVD-X-Copy requires to use the Nero Burn Engine option.) When I clicked on the Burn button, WinXP Pro reported DVD-X-Copy to be Not Responding" which forced me to terminate the program.

How can I get DVD-X-Copy to work properly under Windows XP Pro SP2?
With kindest regards,

Dick

The wording, "Special Windows XP/2000 ONLY Edition" (or Special Edition Windows XP/2000 ONLY) is on an oval-shaped siver sticker affixed to the front of the retail DVD X Copy box with 321Studios 2002-2003 Copyright clearly imprinted on the bottom flap. The part number printed beneath the copyright is 200071. It IS a legitimate installation package, as I said, with a license number and password enclosed with the CD.

I can scan the box, cd-case, & CD, if you like, and sent the images to you.

Sorry for misleading you on the "CD-R" comment; I meant DVD-R. This installation, which apparently did not run correctly, will not burn a DVD under WinXP Pro SP2.

It was a gift to me from Buck McElroy. He is a friend who purchased the retail package, but has never been able to use it because he only has Windows ME. The seal had never been broken on the retail package before I opened it today. Iím not sure where he purchased the package.

I don't know if it makes any difference, however, I had breakast with Buck this morning, and he explained that he bought the
DVD-X-Copy package at CompUSA last November. That's the package he never could use; the same one he gave to me yesterday. Do I still need to contact international for support?

I already downloaded DVD-X-Copy ver. 1.52 and installed it, but it will not burn the second disk of a movie that requires more than 4.7mb to record. When I put a blank DVD in the target drive, DVD-X-Copy ver. 1.52 appears to be doing something for a few moments. But then it pops up a dialogue that, in the blue stripe at the top of the dialogue says the burn failed, BUT the text in the gray body of that dialogue says the operation was successful.

In truth, DVD-X-Copy ver. 1.52 never burned anything onto the second disk.

So, with DVD-X-Copy ver. 1.52 I have what is colloquially known as a "pig in a poke." That is, I have it, but can't use it because it doesn't work properly.

How can I get DVD-X-Copy ver. 1.52 to burn BOTH DVD disks of a video that requires two disks?

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BURN ALL MOVIES WITH DVDXCOPY 152 THE REASON ITS TO OLD AS IT HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR OVER TWO YEARS..AND IT WILL NOT BE EVER UPDATED.

So, the guy who bought this "gift" for me got ripped off. Right?

That's most interesting, because The DVD-X-Copy package clearly states, "Make Perfect Copies of Any DVD Movie."

I wonder how CompUSA and 321Studios would like to face charges of conspiracy to defraud their customers with false advertising in a civil or criminal trial.
With kindest regards,

Dick
