Back up warning - then no film "disc dirty"

Sorry to anyone who has seen this before from someone else.
Using Version 3, A successful copy is registered from DVDX copy. Try it on my DVD player, the DVD XCOPY warning comes up and then its as though my DVD player is searching for the film but cannot find it, then the “disc is dirty” error comes from my DVD player.

The film is definitely there as I can copy it across to my hard drive and view the film. I have tried to copy it from my HD to a disc using Nero but I get the same problem
I have had this problem before and by pressing stop followed by play again it would drop into the film. Now this does not work.
I have a completely devoted machine (XP)formatted tonight with only DVD XCOPY and Nero 5.5.10 absolutely nothing else is on this machine.

I have also tried two different types of media (both of them have worked in the past) It all used to work …but not any more.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Did you use the Gear drivers or your external Nero, to do the burn?

If Nero, they have released a new version 5.5.10.7b that they claim has a better chance of working in standalone machines, and it is a free upgrade. Prob. worth trying.

Thanks for the reply

I have found a collection of postings with the same problem as my own.

For anyone else out there with less hair then they had before.

I have abandoned the menu’s and gone straight into the film and it worked (thank god). The problem would appear to be 321studios DVD Backup warning and the pause effect PLEASE 321 STUDIOS SORT THIS ONE OUT.

agree re pause effect, try doing the burn not normal, but in start w/movie (keep menu) option, also, the alternate (non-nero, non-default), works best for me w/ 1.3.1 using a sony external and accu dvds..

agree it needs to be fixed, burned a coupla coasters on that, eg dvd warning ok, then C:13:00 errors ..try those options above, fwiw
dvdxcopy - thanks for a good program!
