Why are you using RWs? If you can get good burns on them, you should have no problem with Rs, which are MUCH cheaper.

On another topic: HUB-PRINTABLE +Rs are FINALLY available!!! :-) I was having to buy the -Rs, but I can only use them in my Plextor; not in my HP burner. And -Rs are PAINFULLY slow at 1x. I'm about to order 100 +Rs.

Everyone, and Steve83;
i burn to +rw's simply for the rewrite capability: as my kids favorite movies change so can i!
Also about your -r's burning at 1X, have you checked to see if there is an update for your burner's firmware? Most burners will now burn 1X media at 2X, with an updated firmware.

HI EVERYONE :) NICE TO SEE YOU ALL

OfficeDepot.com - 30-pack DVD-R or DVD+R media $20
Go to OfficeDepot.com and find the Maxell 4x DVD+R or DVD-R media in a 15-pack for $27. Pick the +R or -R media and add quantity of 2 to your cart. Then apply coupon code 36384518 for buy-1-get-1-free on the 15-pack, then and code 30332206 for $10 off $30. The DVD-R media is manufactured by Taiyo Yuden and the DVD+R media is manufactured by Ricoh, both are very high quality media. OfficeDepot.com inventory is regional, so the media may or may not be in stock for you. If not in stock, check back later in the week.

Not everyone does; -R discs are cheaper, but +R are slightly more compatible with settop players.

Best deal I know of is newegg's deal for Ridata (Ritek) 4x -r. $29 per 50 pack with free shipping. I have had very good success with them.

PS: I have yet to find a real advantage to the +r. They take about 3 minutes longer to burn on my Sony 510 external, are much more expensive, and I have had a little more trouble with them being recognized on my Sony "recognize everything" settop.

If you're gonna advertise, why not put the phone number and the operator's name, too?

Supermediastore is offering 100 Ritek 4x GO4s for $49 shipped with coupon code "d3doff". That code is good for several other discounts this week.

Why do you advertise for Supermediastore? As for me all I have ever used is Ritek +RW's from NewEgg.com. I saw the ad from Surplus Computers and I passed it on to others in this thread.I also asked if anyone had used them before to find out if thay were any good, because thay are a real good price.I thought that,that was the idea of this thread TO PASS ON INFO ABOUT CHEAP BLANK DVD's !

looker,

I agree with you, This thread is for discussing media. I have also been using the Ritek from Newegg.com as they are the cheapest on this media with their 5.00 off coupon and free shipping.

I for one would also like to know if anyone has tried those Radius disks from Surplus Computers and what they thought?

According to this guy (http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm), Arita is made by either Ritek or Ricoh and is OK.
