The only problem I have found with that site is that the covers are usually European and some (most) are not identified as being such. Not a problem for Euros, but it would be for us Region 1'ers.

Well if you're the owner of the dvd, and you have a scanner, you could just scan them in and get a much better copy!!! :)

True, you could scan your own, but sometimes the covers get "lost" or "damaged", in which case it's nice to know there's a place to get a replacement. I just recently discovered another site those in need of cover scans may want to check out:
They're in the business of selling DVDs, but if you click the small cover image for a particular title, you'll get a larger image of front & back for that title. The scans are not always the best, but most of the time they're pretty good, and sometimes the ones that aren't can be fixed in a graphics program.

Also some of us don't have scanners. My scanner doesn't work with windows XP so I have to get a new one.
They even have people who do custom are so you can use a 7 box alpha case for TV series like x-files, tng, etc. Counted 8 cool custom spider-man dvd cover art.
Very cool - site.

thx jfcarbel .. but dvdcoverart.com is a pay site - what a rip off. I'd just use the cdcovers.cc site, most are region 1 , great scans, and all-dree
remember to get the coverxp pro program, easy to use, to print out the dvd covers ..
you need to use legal size paper, eg 8 1/2 x 14, to get the complete cover printed .
.
i use draft mode, to save ink ..

I am actually looking at the new epson photo printers since they can print out to the border and fit a regular DVD cover in 8.5x11.
Then for the 7 case ones, Epson sells a roll of photo paper that allows you to print any size you want.
Problem with legal paper is find photo quality legal paper. I like my printouts looking glossy and like the original. Especially for custom covers.

ah ok sounds good.. let me know what you find, I may do that too.. for now, hey as long as my backups resemble the originals, that's fine.. even in draft bad mode.. otherwise you're spending a lot in ink...
agree custom covers are great, I like making those too..
also check out that www.dvdprofiler.com app, it's very cool for cataloging

Well if you use MEDIA FACE II it has the template for doing DVD insets built in. That way you can use 8 1/2 X 11 paper. Personally I use HP Brochure and flyer paper. It is glossy and much cheaper than glossy photo paper. It looks the same as photo paper when your done and you get 50 sheets for about $10.00 at staples. The only thing about the MEDIA FACE II program is you have to crop the front, the spine and the back separatly from your downloaded covers and then insert them into the template. It takes only a few minutes.

One other thing, generic ink cartridges can be obtained online for 1/3 the cost of originals. Here is a link to where I get my epson cartridges for about $10.00.
When printing covers without legal size photo available, I just fold a standard piece of used paper (to simulate the thickness of Photo paper)and (temporally) scotch tape this to an 8.5x11 sheet of photo paper. Then send through printer as legal size paper. This will print a full cover right to the edge.
I use coverXP Pro v1.45 to print covers

Here's a tip for those who want to print really superb-looking covers on glossy paper but your printer (like mine) will not print close enough to the bottom of 8.5"x11" paper to print the proper size: Epson makes A4 size (8.3"x11.7") glossy photo paper which work great for me and my HP PSC 950, which refuses to print anything below .46" from the end of the sheet. The extra .7" gives me just enough length to fit the whole cover on one sheet without resorting to the "tape a tail" trick. This size paper is quite commonly found outside the US, but can be ordered direct from Epson and from PC Connection:
