I Have DVD X COPY Gold Vsn 3.0.2. DVD X Copy seems to work OK, Express however won't initiate. I used it about a month ago and it worked fine. I am pretty sure it worked after I installed SP2 to my XP professional OS. The only other changes was I installed a D-Link Wireless router about 2 weeks ago. I reinstalled the X Copy software (now I don't have the most recent update :<( and am not sure where to get it). There were some errors installing the software but only DVD X Copy works OK. I didn't need a new licence activation code. Was the old one kept in the registry? any ideas on why express won't start up?
Thanks.

if there were errors installing, that has to be corrected...and only you can fix it...it has to be reinstalled to correct the errors...
as for the activations in the regestry your guess is as good as mine...

I noticed last night, if I was on the internet, X Copy Express worked OK. If I was not on it didn’t start up. I tested it to make sure. I logged on, started the express copy process and then logged off once the process started and all went well. This isn’t the way it worked in the past. I’m beginning to think that when I loaded the XP, SP2 update, my License was deleted from the registry and that’s why Express is looking for it else ware, like the Internet. Any thoughts? Do I need or can I get a new License, because I reinstalled the software?
“Baldbear” When I initially loaded the 3.0.2 software 10 months ago, there was an update that I downloaded from the 321 site after my install. That’s what I was alluding to. Don’t know what it updated.
“Ireland” Thought I did post a detailed description of the problem, see initial post. Wasn’t need for any more detail than I provided. The burning process worked OK with “DVD X Copy” except for Express where it wouldn’t start up, read above. But here goes: XP Pro with sp2, Plextor 708a DVD burner, HP work station, 2.4 MHZ, P4, 512 MEGs of Ram.

Hello,
I have a similar problem. I’ve obtained a licensed copy of DVD X Copy Xpress 3.2.0. The software seamed to load and activate properly. The software works fine except that it requires internet access to initialize the program at the start of every use. Is there a way to configure the software to not require internet access at the start of each use? My OS is XP home SP2.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Much thanks,

SAY NO TO THE INTERNET CONNECTION,BY BLOCKING IT WITH YOUR FIREWALL..AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS...?????

This is the same issue I posted about and NEVER got an answer on. I want to know in detail why DVD Xcopy Xpress needs and internet connection to start the software. I am also curious as to why there is not a log file for each DVD I have burned. There are only 10 and that number never goes up or down. Are these files being over-written? Are they being sent via FTP back to some secret location for anyone out on the web to look at? Has anyone really looked at these log files? I have and they even state in them whether you ansered yes or no to all questions asked or statements posed to you. They are legal disclaimers that will hang you in a court of law. Everyone had better beware! That us why I demand to know why DVD Xcopy Xpress requires an internet connection to launch the software!

THIS IS THE BEST ANSWER I HAVE FOR YOU....
the internet connection goes no where as 321 servers are closed down,as the internet connection was writen into the program to update the program and to check to see if it was a legal activation..IF NOT IT WOULD DE-ACTIVATE THE PROGRAM..:::
as i have the same problem as ye guys.but sood learned to block it with my firewall.
and then to use the program i make sure the movie plays a little in power dvd..as i do not and will not use wmp to view the movie:::then i open the program.to do my thing..
note i never had a problen with dvdxcopy products from day one.
jackyl635 ALSO IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AS YOU POSTED ABOVE,WHY DON'T YOU MOVE ON TO ANOTHER PROGRAM,AS THAT WOULD SOLVE YOUR CONCERNS.
cheers

xcopy does not need the internet. When I first started with xcopy it was on a computer I set up just for burning and the was no internet, no modem, no nothing and it work just fine. Sorry no big conpiracy theory
