Hi,

I installed Games X Copy on my PC and it goes fine up until creating the image file, however when copying from the image file to DVD+RW the following happens:
"Error message: [05/21/00] - Logical Block Address Out Of Range".
I checked on the web about this concern, a lot of people have the same problem but I can't see any reply from anyone confirming why it happens and how to rectify it.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot.

Regards

I'm having the same problem and getting the same error code with the same version installed on a new Windows XP with SP2 (media center 2005). Could you help me with a newer version? Thanks...

Thanks Baldbear. Tried the new version but with same result. I saw other posts here about switching to Alcohol 120. I downloaded and installed that and I get the EXACT same copy failure with the same error message as GamesXCopy: "[05/21/00] - Logical Block Address Out Of Range". Wow! What's going on?

I am just using Games X Copy as a way to copy DVD-R to DVD-R. It works well on my office computer which is Windows XP sp1. Both PCs are Gateways, new in the last month. 250 GB hard drives, 1 GB DDR memory. I don't know if it is a drive issue, an SP2 issue or a software conflict issue. Any ideas?

So you've backed up the same dvd game on your office pc?

They are DVD-Rs of movies for the most part. They have no protection schemes at all.

I also tried Pinnacle Instant copy trial and it fails to work on my home computer as well!

I know that. The program however has worked perfectly before in copying movies, including making copies of DVDXCopy back-ups. As I said, I have the same program on my office computer which works flawlessly in doing this. I tried copying a PS2 game (Simpson's Road Rage) and get the same error code. Any ideas?

Well I don't know what to tell you. I have never tried to copy a dvd movie with GamesXCopy ... to me it just wasn't designed for it.

My advice is either try different software. For PS2 games you can get a free ripper which will back it up. Check the PS2 forum on aD to find which program. You could also try a newer version if you don't have the newest one. The newest version of GamesXCopy is v1.2.2

Ok. Thanks anyway. I believe my problem must be related to Service Pack 2. I also tried to install a copy of DVD XXXXX XXXXXXX X and it fails also. Sigh........

sorry can't mention other software in this forum...BB
