What I finally did was save the update file, uninstall DVDXMaker, and run the update file. When I say "worked", I mean it no longer gives messages that I need an update; however, the version still shows as 2.0. So, I don't really think it updated.
I have DVDXMaker version 2.0, from the DVDExtreme package. Every 3 or 4 times I start it, it says there's an update to version 2.1.0.8. I download (75 MB) and install, everything looks fine, but when I start DVDXMaker again, it's still version 2.0, and after a while I get another notification to download the update. Any suggestions? Is it possible to just get the update file from an ftp site and retry the update without sitting through the download again?

I have the same issue and I amnew to this forum. I get a little box that tells me to save the patch into DVD Maker because the update is no longer available. Everytime I ry to use BurnXpress,a box pops up telling me an update is needed. I follow the instructions:
1. Click here to download the patch
2. When asked if you would like to "Open the file or save it to your computer" click on the Save button or radio button next to Save.
3. From Save As window you can navigate to the Burn Xpress directory usually found in C:\Program Files\321Studios\DVDXTREME\DVD X Burn\ then click the Save button.
4. Note: You can save the file any place you want, however most people save the file to their C:\. Choose Yes to replace the already existing file.
It does not take the patch and I have tried it several times and rebooted afterwards. Does anyone have the actual update or does anyone know how to make the patch work?

I have the 2.0 version and I am getting the rror too.
Can someone direct me to a place where I can get the patch for this program? I need version 2.01 something...
Please help with this dead product.

Can anyone help, I'm looking for a copy of the upgrade for dvd x maker, I have version 2, but I understand there is a higher version. Can anyone that has it make a copy so that I can get it?
