I am using platinum (advanced tab) since few months. But recently all of a sudden it gives message "Write error, Please check log file.." after inserting the blank media +-R(W)disks and clicking START button.
As mentioned in other thread updated my computer with 'working aspi layer' from the link provided by Moderator. Still it gives the same error message.
But retrying multiple times with simple mode it works, in advanced mode it reads fine with compression but only at step 2 by cliking START button after inserting the blank media I get the above write error.
No clue why it is happening? any solution to this?
I use o/s XP (pro/home), TDK DVD +-R(W)burner.

can you post the log?
to find the log: click your local disk -> program files -> 321studios folder -> platinum -> logs ... the first log will be your most current.

prakashtv,
Here is the error:
0040B4F0: Files are too big to fit on a DVD+/-R(W):
If simple mode does OK use that or you will have to go w/ alternative software

I think it is less than the DVD blank media capacity. It is used to work till date, all of a sudden it is giving this error.
Any solution by Mr.Moderator?

With simple mode I am missing rest of the DATA.
It did only 55% compression in Advanced mode, I think that is not any abnormal, there might be some solution other than going to another S/W.
Any solution to this situation?

As you have mentioned earlier I tried those methods. Yes, it happened with two movie disks.
I tried with X Rescue ... result it hungs up at certain point in reading phase. Both movie disks plays well.
Update...I did not get that earlier write error.. with other disks. Thanks for providing me the newer version.
Log file shows ***Error*** MissingFile.
Is it require to open another thread since it is a Read error? Any advise by Mr. Moderator?
