After trying to rescue 4 different dvd's I decided to come here. I hit rescue button, seems to start fine, but then "time remaining" starts to increase. When I bring up task manager (windows XP) I notice various processes running flipping from 5% to 40% CPU usage. I have run Adaware6,Spybot s&D, Hijack this. Some of the process EXE files running in task manager were found on Hijackthis log as "UNKNOWN" I removed them. When I bring up Task manager again, they are gone at first, but then reappear and start running again. I have deleted all temp and prefetch in safe mode. I have changed "preferences" in Rescue file to "Accept read errors during copy". Can any of the guru's here help me?
A little pampering goes a long way...

Try cleaning the source ... If the disc is really damaged, I don't think Rescue will help.

And NO DOUBLE POSTS ... you posted in the right place the first time. Have some patience, starting a new thread 9 minutes later in a different section doesn't make us happy
I deleted your other thread. Moved back to Rescue.
